Meet the Amigas!

Kate and Maria became friends in 2009, when they taught first grade together at Wyatt Academy in Denver, Colorado. While they loved teaching, they discovered a true passion for building relationships with families and figuring out ways to empower them. That year, they launched Adopt A Family and sponsored 9 children. The next year it grew to 18, then 50, and finally 160 in 2018. Both Kate and Maria are transplants to Denver, Kate from New York and Maria from Mexico. They love spending time with family and friends, and getting to know so many of the wonderful people that call Denver home.
